We’re circling back to our original quest for true female Emcees. That quest started in November 2010 where we posed the question….are there any female emcees representing Hip Hop Culture right now? In that quest WTLMS featured a playlist of female Emcees called Ladies Choice (click here for mixtape archive). So our quest continues to show and prove who and where they are. Going beyond what the corporate music industry gatekeepers want to present, we all know the female rap artists we see on television continue to be over saturated with showing their booties and providing no relevant content other than to downplay their metaphors to showing a little skin. It’s time we stomp the nonsense and bring powerful rhyme styles and artistic integrity to light. This episode comes to you this November 2014 as we celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Hip Hop culture. It’s been a long time coming and we have a long way to go. These ladies gonna stand up and respect the culture the right way, her way! True School Hip Hop comes to save the day!
Stand Up, Ladies!
